The Beginning of the End for Trump

The faster something rises, the faster it falls.  And slow build-ups are far more sustainable than rapid ones.

Trump leapt in early polls and popularity right out of the gate, but that may have been his tactical mistake.  The debate last night showed a less-impressive performance from Trump, and it seems like the other candidates are figuring out how to deal with him.

Slowly the media's focus is panning away from the Trump-show, and the general population is starting to learn about some of the candidates who aren't named Donald.

Trump has quickly reached his peak of media coverage, great and not-so-great ideas, and popularity.  Like a rookie quarterback who wins the Superbowl, there is only one way to go from here.  Trump peaked too early, and you will see his star fade very gradually from this point forward.

Who are we kidding - He does make for great TV.  But it will be tough to win the Presidency without the Latino or Female demographic.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not a Trump hater or basher.  There are some strengths he possesses which this nation could use right now.  However, those can also be found in many of the other candidates, free from all the polarizing comments which generate shock and media coverage.

Your Life Will Change at 2pm Today

At 2 pm, the decision by the Federal Reserve to raise rates (or not) will be announced.  As mentioned earlier, either tack the FED chooses will result in an overreaction among traders - there will be too much buying, or too much selling.

In other words, the reactionary trading will lead to investment opportunities.  For example, if the markets sell off, that impact will be too strong, pushing shares to undervalued levels.  If they roar higher, they will go too far, and shares will eventually drop back.

Either way, today's decision will alleviate some of the uncertainty, and as we explained, uncertainty if the one thing the markets hate more than bad news!

And there is always the Relief Rally you will see if the FED does raise rates, as we explained here.

Whenever the FED gets around to the first hike in rates in over a decade, besides absolutely destorying emerging economies like Brazil, Venuzuela, and many others, this is what will happen to you.
