Blog : I am Begging You to Agree with my Anger

by Peter Leeds on November 3rd, 2015

America is a great nation, mainly.  However, it is only removed from the international slave trade since 1808, and didn't officially end slavery until 1865 (not 1863 as most believe).

Not that the exact date matters - this disgusting, savage practice is beyond the limits of human cruelty and completely devoid of empathy, morals, or feeling.  And this all happenned only 150 years ago - that is recent.

Segregation ended in 1964.  It is absolutely sick how this was even an issue, and that it stopped only 51 years ago.  I've been told that I'm not to swear in my blog, but only 51 years ago?  My parents had already been fucking born.  What the hell is wrong with people?

Issues like this are why I have zero faith in human character.  Zero.  Or whatever number is less than zero.

Many individuals are good and kind, but when grouped together, or led by morons, society makes absolutely horrendous, venomous, sick choices, that can not be undone.

We are making an awful choice right now, before our very eyes.  Maybe it is because we got tired of dumping napalm and Agent Orange onto children who live in sheds 8,568 miles away.  (Have you ever walked four miles?  Or even one?  8,568 is really, really far away).

My uncles might disagree with my views - they flew in the Korean war, and afterwards served in Vietnam.  They are passed.  But I do know that their involvement were financially driven decisions - they literally could not afford to have a choice.

Sending troops to Syria is a mistake only a politician 6,677 miles from the flashpoint would make.  So far, the troop count is very small, but it will be increased.

It will have to be, since even right now there are thousands of ISIS and al Nusra and al Qaeda American-armed "moderate rebels" gearing up for their greatest battle.  Then will take prisoners.  They will parade them on camera.  You will watch this happen.  (Remember the moment when you first read this sentence).

Taking Kobane or Bagdad is one thing.  Fighting (and even dying during that fight) against American troops is the "big show."  This is where the ISIS focus has already begun to shift.  They are as excited as hell.  They can not wait to get started.

Our politicians have said "Assad must go."  What the hell does that even mean?  Apparantly this vague decision has been made for you.

Why didn't "The Butcher" Idi Amin "have to go?"  Why doesn't Robert Mugabe "have to go?"  Mugabe ordered the burning and killing of approximately 20,000, and recently.

Instead of saying ISIS must go, they arm them to fight Assad, even the ones loyal to or directly related to al Qaeda... because as we've been instructed, "Assad must go."

If you take out Assad, someone else takes his place.  If you take out Saddam, someone else takes his place (which in that instance was ISIS).

If you think that our troop involvement will not expand, then you probably also believe it is possible to install American-style central governments in Afghanistan or Libya.  Both nations are made up of hundreds of tribes, which is why we've been failing in every unwanted and unrequested democracy-installation attempt.  And you just learned something that our politicians don't even understand, so maybe they should be voting for you.

Ever notice the Taliban is still around?  We were told we defeated them.  Someone needs to tell that to the Taliban, they didn't get the memo.
  • What did we "win" in the Korean war?
  • What did we "win" in Vietnam?
  • What did we "win" with the destabilization of Iraq?
  • What good came of the fragmentation of Libya?
  • What changes have come to Afghanistan?
  • Or from the "Bay of Pigs" slaughter in Cuba?
  • Or the invasion of Panama?
A lot of bad consequences.  Not a lot of good has come from any of this.  However, there has been unbelievably horrible, destructive, and ruinous results to innocent children and women who just happen to live in the wrong place.

Imagine a kid going out to collect firewood on the other side of the world, and a drone flies overhead, and a technician in Nevada pulls a trigger, and that child is absolutely obliterated... and her potential children, and grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and every smile or laugh she would have ever had...

I say "imagine" because I honestly feel like I'm about to throw up, and I'm not ready to admit to myself that it actually happened.  It did, and represents only one event in an endless list of unintended horrors.

Calling it "collateral damage" is like a maniac eating five people then saying he was just "having a grumpy day."

Slow clap - keep voting for war mongers, let's rebuild the sixth fleet instead of helping our homeless war vets off the streets.

Hey, we gotta show strength to our enemies, right?  In other words, we need to think in our heads that our enemies think in their heads that we are strong.  It doesn't matter what they really believe, it only matters what we assume they believe.

That my friends is called "Ego."  Ego leads to war, harm, destruction, death, and sorrow.  It does not lead to "better" - there is only decline.

Ego is why panzer tanks flattened Polish cavalry.  Ego is why the Khmer Rouge slaughtered 2 million people 40 years ago.  Ego is why bombs get dropped on countries that we can't even point to on a map.  Ego is why our decisions are all based on and motivated by fear.

Maybe you disagree, and please do.  Let me know what I'm missing.  Please at least give me some argument, no matter how weak, that this is all ok.

Is it just detachment?  Is it putting less value on other lives?  What makes a man capable of killing a slave, or even having a slave in the first fucking place.

If you think like I do, and believe sending our troops to Syria is not necessary, please share this blog so we can, at very least, show some small bit of disgust.

Let's prove that there is a big part of the population who is not OK with having unlimited, unnecessary wars 6,677 miles from home, against people who could not reach or harm us.

The orphan children who hide in the rubble at these distant flashpoints do not need to suffer from our actions.  This horror is unneccesary and avoidable and a result of politically-motivated actions.  That officially makes the entire situation FUCKING DISGUSTING.

Please share this blog - help me understand that there is some good in this world we have built.  Enough with slaughtering ourselves and others
