Platinum to Gold?
Historically (and we mean since before you were born), the price of platinum has been about double that of gold.
Right now, the prices are about equal. However, consider:
>> Platinum is 30 times more rare than gold
>> Platinum produced per year is about 6% of gold production.
>> Platinum has more industrial uses than silver or gold
>> Over half of yearly production is consumed by industrial needs (For example, catalytic converters in diesel engines)

More alarmingly, there are only about 6 million OUNCES of above ground platinum in the world. Formed into a single cube, this would only fill one-tenth of an apartment which was so shockingly small it made the news! Current platinum prices are $1,227 per ounce.
This compares to 165,000 TONS of above-ground Gold, which trades at a comparable $1,197 per ounce.
Long term, my opinion is that platinum is a hedge against inflation and global chaos, with much more upside than gold.
One way I have personally proceeded was to buy the platinum ETF which goes by the ticker PPLT. My opinion is that, over time, this investment will increase in value. I do have a stop-loss in at $115 to avoid any alarming downside.
